The Carter Sphere Introducer offers a wide range of benefits for ophthalmic surgeons. These benefits are particularly useful during ocular prosthesis implantation.
For this purpose, the instrument features four atraumatic concave blades. Moreover, the blades face each other in a cross-like way, which permits an efficient implant grasping. Also, the blades have a smooth working surface for preserving the eye sphere.
In addition, the device comes with a spring-loaded plunger handle. The handle includes two lateral wings and a central plunger. Surgeons can rest their fingers against the lateral wings and press the plunger with their thumbs to open the blades as desired.
