The Murdoch Eye Speculum offers a broad range of advantages for ophthalmic surgeons. Its principal use is to permit an optimal view of the eyeball and its adnexal tissues.
For this purpose, the instrument features a pair of fenestrated blades, which are ideal to observe the eyelids’ conjunctiva. In addition, the blades are available in 12 and 15mm sizes to accommodate a variety of orbital margins.
Moreover, the Murdoch Eye Speculum features a sliding bar with a moveable arm. Surgeons can loosen or tighten the sliding bar’s screws to slide down the arm, which results in eyelid retraction.
