The Barkan Goniotomy Knife offers a broad range of benefits for pediatric patients with an underdeveloped trabecular meshwork. Its principal use is to cut through different tissues of the eye to improve the aqueous filtration of the eye.
For this purpose, the instrument features a small blade supplied with an inner convex cutting edge. As a result, surgeons can perform multidirectional incisions through different tissues to reach the trabecular meshwork.
Moreover, the Barkan Goniotomy Knife features a straight, tapered shaft to pass into the anterior chamber. In addition, the handle has a square-shaped profile supplied with smooth surfaces to achieve an excellent grip.
