The Cobb Periosteal Elevator offers multiple surgical advantages for orthopedic surgeons. These advantages are especially useful for performing bone harvesting, reshaping and other procedures.
For instance, the elevator comes with an oval blade with a round cutting edge. Moreover, the blade has a slight curve and its size ranges from 10.0 to 32.0mm. As a result, surgeons can separate the hard periosteum from delicate bone as well as from long ones.
More importantly, the smaller blades allow surgeons to treat children with fractures. Also, the device’s handle features a hollow handle with a diamond knurling style grip. This design minimizes the chance of slipping the instrument into the surgical field.
